THEUS partner EUREC coordinated with the THEUS consortium a response to the European Commission’s Call for Evidence for its upcoming Electrification Action Plan. The deadline for input was 9 October 2025.
The project’s feedback to the Commission highlights the importance of funding the deployment of hybrid AC/DC networks to better integrate RES and storage, developing an EU regulatory framework for Medium Voltage DC and increasing grid-forming capabilities to increase grid stability. The THEUS response, along with a supporting IEEE conference paper (‘Hybrid HVAC–HVDC Grids: Review on Techno-economic, Societal, and Regulatory Aspects’), can be accessed here.
