Hybrid AC/DC grids combine the strengths of alternating and direct current technologies to accelerate electrification and support the energy transition. By integrating renewable sources such as offshore wind and solar power, these grids increase cross-border capacity, reduce congestion and losses, and encourage innovation.
How can DC technology speed up electrification while cutting costs and ensuring reliability? Which regulatory and standardisation gaps hinder deployment and interoperability? And how can digital control, real-time data, and cybersecurity enhance resilience and security of supply?
The webinar, organised by the THEUS, InterSCADA and DCforEU projects on 8 June from 10.00 to 12.00 CEST, will address these questions and explore how hybrid AC/DC infrastructure can ensure a clean, secure, and competitive Energy Union.
